The 45th Annual Earth Day is just over a week away! It’s a worldwide celebration, on April 22, that provides a great opportunity to get involved in your community and make a positive impact on the environment. Here are some ideas for how you can participate:
Non-Polluter Commuter
Our cars are one of the greatest causes of pollution. So, on Earth Day, consider changing up your commute. If you’re lucky enough to live close to work, then walk or bike in that day. Or, you can carpool with a co-worker, ride a bus or train, or maybe arrange to work from home that day.
Paper Saver
If you don’t already use online bill pay, consider making the switch. Paperless billing is an excellent way to be more eco-friendly. Fun fact: if everybody in the United States started dealing with money online, it would save almost 19 millions trees every year!
All Cheer for Volunteers!
There are numerous opportunities to volunteer on Earth Day. Check on the EPA’s event page, or contact your local government to ask about happenings in your community. If you don’t have time to get your hands dirty, you could also celebrate by attending a local festival or parade.
Flower Power
Earth Day is the perfect time to plant a tree, shrub or flowers. Plants will beautify your outdoor area and help absorb CO2 from the air. Don’t have a green thumb? Don’t worry! It’s best to choose a plant that won’t require lots of water, since H20 is a valuable resource.
At ID Edge, we strive to uphold green practices in our day-to-day operations. We offer a variety of Earth-friendly products for businesses that want to do better for the environment. We also promote recycling through our printer trade-in program. If your business or organization needs ideas for going green, please reach out to us – we’re happy to help.
