Are you ready for the holidays? More importantly…Are you ready to take care of your customers this holiday season with awesome gift card options?
This time of year is a very special time for all of us here at ID Edge because we get a lot of gift card printing requests from all types of companies that want to give their customers some extra gift options. We have a really great time filling these batches for our customers (so many amazing custom designs!), and we know that each card we print will be used to create special memories for someone. We love this time of year!
If you’re thinking of printing gift cards this year, here are some great pointers to keep in mind.
Start Early
We always go above and beyond to help our customers and will do everything we can to handle even last minute requests. However, we like to encourage all clients to start the process early. There are several reasons for this…
Firstly, you’ll save yourself a ton of stress. Gift cards usually take about 3 weeks to complete from quote, to design, to fulfillment. The sooner you order the better off you are. If your gift cards arrive 2-4 weeks before they are needed, you’ll have a much better experience. You won’t have to rush last minute, and you won’t have worry that you won’t get them on time.
Secondly, you’ll save on shipping costs because you can get cheaper Ground Shipping options rather than having to pay an arm and a leg for overnight mailing.
Thirdly, you’ll have more time to make sure you have the perfect visual design for your needs. You won’t have to rush with the design and can find the perfect look!
Use Vivid Colors
Many people have a completely wrong impression of gift cards – they think of them as cash! This is absolutely wrong! It’s a gift, so it must look enticing and exciting to the recipient. Sure, people like getting a card to use somewhere, but if it’s not exciting, you might as well give them cash.
When ID Edge helps customers print gift cards, we always focus on immaculate design that is rich in vibrant colors. We want your customers to be excited by the prospect of giving a card that looks amazing!
There is one caveat, however. The card needs to be brand right. In other words, it has to underscore your brand and fit with the overall image you want to build.
Barcode vs. Mag Stripe Gift Cards
Once in a while we work with a customer who wants to use a bar code on their gift card. This can be a less secure option, but call and talk with our knowledgeable staff to figure out the best solution for you.
Want to Print Your Own Cards?
We are happy to help any client print amazing gift cards, even for small orders. But some customers are much more hands on and like to print gift cards on their own. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you’d like help figuring out the best way to print the cards with your ID printer.
