This Tuesday, the 11 of November, is Veterans Day in the United States. This holiday is occasion to remember and celebrate the all the courageous men and women who served and still serve this great nation. Veterans Day symbolizes the end of “the war to end all wars,” World War I, after the Treaty of Versailles was signed. Upon establishing Veterans Day, U.S. President Wilson declared:
“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…”
Support the DAV
ID Edge is dedicated to supporting America’s veterans, and with each customer purchase, we donate a dollar to the Disabled Veterans Association (DAV). DAV is a veterans advocacy and assistance group devoted to answering the needs of disabled veterans. The DAV’s state purpose is to empower veterans to lead quality lives with respect and dignity. DAV allows veterans and their families to access the benefits that are available to them, fights for disabled veterans’ interests on Capitol Hill, and educates the public about veterans’ sacrifices and current needs in their transition back to civilian life.
To give to DAV and show your support for U.S. veterans, you can donate through the DAV’s online donation page. Or, purchase an item you need from ID Edge, and a portion from each sale will be given to the DAV, not just today, but any day you make a purchase through us.
